This trip was my first time visiting the UK and it was truly a amazing experience. The local area was packed with places to shop, eat and drink, I'm only sad that I wasn't able to try everything! The coach house was cozy and had everything we needed, within easy walking distance of the town Henry was a delightful host and made this american's first stay a great one! Very highly recommended.   I had a truly wonderful stay at The Coach House in Saffron Walden! Henry was an absolutely fantastic host – very welcoming and helpful throughout my entire visit. The property itself was perfect, providing everything I could possibly need. It was spotlessly clean and impeccably well-kept, making for a very comfortable and enjoyable experience. My daughter and I had the best experience staying at Henry’s cottage! We loved the house! It’s very nicely decorated, very clean and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Loved the town of Saffron Walden and its closeness to Audley End station where it was easy to move by train to other places. Have to say that what made our stay feel so special was Henry our host! He is such a nice person! So attentive and welcoming. We got to meet Joanna too, super nice with us! They are both lovely people! Thank you Henry for your kindness and for letting us enjoy your home! Wonderful find. Everything you would want for a stay in Saffron Walden and local area including ample car parking and a hot tub (by arrangement). Clean, comfortable, private and surprisingly spacious - like a Tardis. Easy walking distance to the common and town centre. Henry is a great host. JB

About Saffron Walden

Saffron Walden, placed at the north-western tip of Essex, is widely regarded as one of the most attractive towns in East Anglia. A busy market is held every Tuesday and Saturday in the historic Market Square, in the centre of the town. An exciting mix of big brand and independent shops occupy the streets leading to the Market Square, along with coffee shops, restaurants and public houses. Saffron Walden has its own museum, within the grounds of the old castle, beautifully tended gardens in Bridge End Gardens and the The Common, a huge expanse of grass for public enjoyment, just two minutes walk from The Coach House. The impressive Audley End House, run by English Heritage, is within walking distance through the parklands that form the picturesque Audley End Estate.

Saffron Walden is very well connected with Stansted Airport only 12 miles away. The M11 junction to London is 5 miles, and the University City of Cambridge is just 15 miles to the north. The Coach House is perfectly positioned for trips around East Anglia with the added bonus of a local railway station for direct routes into Liverpool Street Station, London.
